When The Fatigue Is Overwhelming

The tiredness, feeling weak, and lacking energy, both physically and emotionally, have you felt this way? Are there days you wake up and want to stay in bed because of the continuous overwhelming symptoms? Or maybe you had finished one task and felt too exhausted to do anything else.

I want you to know that this is something that many have faced, and there are those of us with chronic illnesses that continue to struggle with a constant fatigue. For me, fatigue is a symptom that I have struggled with for almost eight years because of my CMT.

Living with continuous tiredness and pain day after day can feel overwhelming. There are days I'm not able to leave my home, or I have to cancel plans to rest. And for the past couple of years, there are moments when I feel physically ill because of fatigue and pain.

I remember a couple years back I was waiting for one of my dance classes to start. I began feeling sick, my body ached, and I almost felt like it was the flu. Recognizing that possibly, I quickly stepped outside, and called my Mom. After resting that night, I woke up the following morning feeling better. Let's just say this was my first out of my occurrences that I felt physically ill because of the high amounts of fatigue and pain.

I'm sure there are many out there, especially those with a chronic illness, that understand and relate to experiencing fatigue. Having a lack of energy both physically or emotionally is hard. I hope you will share ways you cope with this sense of feeling overwhelmed because of fatigue and pain. More importantly, you are not alone.

I encourage you today to spend time in prayer. Are friend and Savior is always there listening. Do not lose faith in this season, but instead keep taking one day at a time.
